Marine Biology Lab
The Laboratory of Marine Biology and Fisheries (LMBF) is located in Fano (PU), on the Adriatic Sea.
The LMBF is active since 1939 coordinating and collaborating in several national and international research programs on fisheries and fish biology, marine organisms and ecosystems of the Adriatic Sea and Mediterranean. The LMBF has experimental and technological facilities for research in marine fishery and fish biology, marine ecology, marine zoology and genetics.
The LMBF is fully equipped for supporting marine research and studies. Main Technological and Research Units are the research vessel “m/n Andrea”, the Marine Aquarium, Ichthyology, Ichthyoplankton, Benthos, Aquaculture, Data Analysis & G.I.S., Molecular Zoology & Genetics.
The LMBF is an active partner of several regional, national and international
research networks and cooperation within the Adriatic Sea and Mediterranean.
