- - Gonadal sex differentiation in Amphibia Anura (Bufo bufo, Rana dalmatina): histological, ultrastructural, immunocytochemical and genetic observations of larval gonads on the basal laminae, on cellular relationships, and on germ and somatic cell differentiation in the two sexes;
- - Demography in populations of agamic Aoeolosomatidae (Annelida Aphanoneura): population dynamics in Aeolosoma hemprichi and A. viride under controlled environmental conditions: reproductive ability and aging;
- - Demography and reproductive strategies in Mediterranean Scleractinia (Cnidaria, Madreporaria): demography, embryo development, and larval dispersion are compared in populations of Balanophyllia europaea (hermaphroditic species) and of Leptopsamina pruvoti (gonocoric species) by histological, ultastructural and genetic methods
- - Ichthyofauna distribution in inner waters of the north-eastern Apennines: distribution, structure and dynamics of fish populations in connection with natural and artificial changes in environmental conditions. Development of a model to evaluate the quality of fish populations. Taxonomic issues regarding Salmo trutta and Barbus species addressed by molecular techniques
- - Taxonomy and population dynamics of Amphibia Anura: natural populations of Amphibia Anura are studied from a taxonomic point of view by means of mitochondrial and nuclear DNA (red frogs), and from a reproductive point of view (toads, yellow-bellied toads)
